BioMar Group has entered into a partnership with Fóðurblandan in Iceland to manufacture and distribute aquafeed at Fóðurblandan’s facility in Reykjavik. This collaboration makes BioMar the only global manufacturer with aquafeed production in Iceland.

The partnership merges BioMar’s expertise in aquafeed manufacturing with Fóðurblandan’s infrastructure and market presence in Iceland. The collaboration involves upgrading production facilities at Fóðurblandan to enhance quality and performance, along with establishing a distribution center for BioMar’s product portfolio, ensuring reliable delivery throughout the year across Iceland.

Paddy Campbell, VP of BioMar’s Salmon Division, stated: “This partnership gives us a unique opportunity to deliver locally produced, high-quality aquafeed backed by BioMar’s extensive R&D capabilities.” He added that Fóðurblandan is an ideal partner due to its strong supply chain infrastructure.

Mike McLeish has been appointed as Business Unit Director for Iceland. With extensive experience in the aquaculture industry, he will lead this new venture. Johannes Gislason will join as Sales & Business Development Manager, bringing his background in aquaculture to expand customer relationships and support.

Úlfur Blandon, CEO of Fóðurblandan ehf., commented: “We are proud to enter into a commercial partnership with BioMar. Producing feed locally is a major step toward reducing the industry’s carbon footprint.”
