Bolton Group (Rio Mare) organized summer camps for the children of employees working at its food plants in Colombia, Ecuador, and Morocco. The camps were designed for children aged 6 to 15 and offered programs tailored to different age groups. The initiative aimed to provide a safe and inclusive environment where children could participate in educational and recreational activities.
The camps were open to both permanent and temporary workers’ children, reflecting Bolton’s focus on inclusion and community-building. Activities included sports, talent shows, ecology lessons, cinema experiences, English and math games, eco-adventures, cooking workshops, music sessions, arts and crafts, as well as aquatic activities.
In Colombia, 60 children took part in a program that included visits to a countryside school where they interacted with animals and rode ponies. In Ecuador, 190 children attended a month-long camp that featured academic games alongside practical experiences like preparing healthy snacks. In Morocco, five weeks of camps welcomed 250 children who engaged in creative workshops and swimming sessions.
Feedback from families indicated high satisfaction with the organization of the camps and the dedication of facilitators. Parents reported that the camps helped them manage childcare during the summer while supporting their children’s social development.
According to Bolton Group (Rio Mare), “Learning while having fun was the main goal of our Bolton’s Summer Camps for our Food plants’ employees’ children, and we can assure you that this mission was fully achieved!”
The company described this initiative as part of its ongoing efforts to foster internal cohesion among staff and promote a family-friendly workplace culture.
