Cooke Aquaculture Inc., based in Saint John, New Brunswick, has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the 20th consecutive year. This achievement earns the company Platinum Club status once again.

The recognition is part of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program, which is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, The Globe and Mail, TMX Group, Export Development Canada, and Norton Rose Fulbright. The program highlights Canadian-owned and managed companies that excel in leadership across strategy, innovation, culture, and financial performance.

Glenn Cooke, CEO of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., expressed pride in the milestone: “This incredible milestone is a testament to the passion, dedication, and integrity of our entire team. It’s especially meaningful this year as Cooke is marking its 40th anniversary and we are reflecting on how far our company has come. For four decades, we’ve remained committed to driving innovation, supporting our people, and delivering outstanding service to our customers. Being part of Canada’s Best Managed Companies Platinum Club is an honor we’re proud to uphold.”

Cooke Aquaculture stands as one of the largest family-owned businesses in Atlantic Canada with a workforce of 3,000 employees. The company supports over 1,000 small and medium-sized businesses through local procurement.

Lorrie King from Deloitte Private commented on the award’s significance: “Best Managed is a prestigious award that recognizes the significant and ongoing contributions within Canada’s business landscape. Companies such as Cooke who attain this high standard of excellence demonstrate consistent adaptability, versatility, and strategic acuity. Year after year they thrive in a competitive rapidly changing market and should be proud of their growth.”

As Cooke celebrates this achievement while marking its 40th anniversary year; it continues to focus on future growth opportunities aimed at making positive impacts across Atlantic Canada.

Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation serves as a mark of excellence for private Canadian-owned firms since its inception in 1993. Each year numerous entrepreneurial entities vie for this honor through an independent evaluation process assessing management skills along with practices covering four levels ranging from new winners up to Platinum Club members maintaining their status over seven years or more.
