Francesca Presotto, who has been with Bolton Group for nearly nine years, shared her reflections on her career journey and leadership style in a recent interview. She described her experience at the company as one of continuous growth and learning.
“I feel extremely proud to have found a place where I am growing, and that is evolving with me as well. A place where I keep learning, where I sometimes make mistakes, which I find necessary to become the person I want to be in the future,” Presotto said.
Presotto highlighted two core values of Bolton that resonate most with her: “Will to Achieve” and “Quest to Evolve.” She linked these values to her background in sports, noting how perseverance and the drive for improvement are important both professionally and personally.
She outlined four major milestones in her career at Bolton. The first was joining an environment filled with supportive colleagues willing to teach. The second milestone involved moving from marketing to trade roles, which required taking a step back hierarchically but allowed her to develop complementary skills crucial for later positions. Her third milestone was a shift in mindset from feeling like she needed to prove herself as a student, toward aspiring to lead teams effectively—a change influenced by managers who acted as mentors. The fourth milestone is her current role as Trade Marketing Manager at Bolton Beauty since March 2025.
Discussing leadership, Presotto explained how her approach has evolved over time: “At the beginning, my approach to leadership was very much about proving that I deserved that role. Over time, though, I realized that leadership doesn’t mean being the one who knows or does everything. It’s about creating the right environment where the team feels supported, challenged, and motivated to reach a common goal together.”
She emphasized focusing more on listening and giving autonomy within teams: “What has changed the most is that today I focus much more on listening, giving people autonomy, and adapting my style to different personalities.”
When asked about the most satisfying moment of her career so far, Presotto pointed out her transition from marketing to trade roles despite initial challenges: “It wasn’t easy: I had to start again from scratch… But it allowed me to challenge myself… Looking back, that choice gave me the foundation to grow into the role I have today.”
Her advice for others considering similar changes is not to fear stepping outside their comfort zones: “Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone… Every change is an opportunity to learn…”
Presotto also spoke about entering the beauty sector earlier this year: “It’s been like jumping into a brand-new world… A lot of things are completely different from my status quo…”
In addition to work responsibilities as Domestic and Trade Marketing Manager at Bolton Beauty since February 2025, Presotto credits sports with shaping her professional outlook: “Sports are part of my DNA — they’ve taught me perseverance, energy, and team spirit. That’s exactly how I live Bolton’s values: I’m always pushing to achieve, and I never stop evolving.”
