As part of its sustainability efforts, a production site in Goes, Netherlands is undergoing significant changes to reduce CO2 emissions. Starting in 2024, the site embarked on a modernization plan beginning with upgrades to the office building. Improvements included roof insulation, boiler renewal, heat pump installation with heat recovery, and solar panel addition. These measures resulted in a 65% reduction in both electricity and gas consumption and CO2 emissions from the office building.

“Our efforts aren’t just about reducing our emissions; they’re about having an impact and creating a better future for both people and the planet. It’s incredible to see how all little steps can accumulate to a significant change, and we are proud to be part of that change,” stated Indre Thiel, Sustainable Development Director at UHU, Bolton Adhesives.

In 2025, attention will shift to one of the filling departments. Planned improvements include enhanced roof insulation, new ventilation systems with heat recovery capabilities, and additional solar panels. These changes aim to improve energy efficiency and further reduce CO2 emissions while increasing energy self-sufficiency.

The company is committed to modernizing operations and achieving meaningful emission reductions as part of its goal for a sustainable future.
