High Liner Foods Incorporated has announced the launch of a new line of fully cooked frozen seafood products within its Foodservice division. The company, which is recognized as a major producer of value-added frozen seafood in North America, aims to provide food operators and distributors with easier options for serving seafood.
According to Anthony Rasetta, Chief Commercial Officer at High Liner Foods, “High Liner Foods has over a century of expertise in seafood excellence and innovation is at the forefront of everything we do. Our new line of responsibly sourced, fully cooked products opens up the opportunity for operators and distributors to offer consumers more of what they are looking for on their menus – new, elevated and high in protein offerings that are quick, easy and done perfectly every time.”
The product range includes four items: Panko Breaded Pollock Square and Panko Breaded Sandwich Portion for sandwiches or wraps; Panko Breaded Pollock Strip; and Garlic and Herb Lightly Coated Pollock Strip. All products are made from wild-caught fish, are MSC Certified, high in protein, and designed for ease of preparation in commercial kitchens.
The company states that these offerings are intended to help convenience stores and quick service restaurants address challenges related to labor and preparation time while maintaining consistent quality. The products also aim to be competitive in pricing.
A recent survey conducted by Elevator Research found that 51% of convenience store food consumers would seek out new seafood options if available. Additionally, 58% said they would consider ordering menu items such as shrimp, white fish or salmon through this channel. Seventy-five percent believe that seafood would offer something different for this market segment.
High Liner Foods’ fully cooked seafood lineup will be available across North America through its Foodservice distribution network.
