High Liner Foods announced on March 16 the launch of its new Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals, debuting the products at the Seafood Expo North America this week. The company is presenting these frozen seafood skillet meals alongside other new retail and foodservice offerings.
The introduction of these skillet meals addresses a growing demand for convenient, nutritious meal solutions among consumers. According to High Liner Foods, the new products are designed for quick preparation and aim to deliver restaurant-quality seafood meals at home.
Anthony Rasetta, Chief Commercial Officer of High Liner Foods, said, “Sea Cuisine’s Skillet Meals are made for today’s consumers. We know that consumers are looking for meal options that are easy to prepare, tasty and high in protein and this new lineup of meal options is the answer for the perfect, restaurant-quality, easy weeknight meal.” Rasetta added that expanding beyond shrimp to include sole and salmon offers more variety to meet different tastes.
The three skillet meal varieties include Mediterranean-Style Sole Pasta with wild caught sole and penne pasta; Thai Red Curry Salmon featuring wild caught salmon with vegetables and brown rice; and Chili Garlic Shrimp with chow mein noodles and vegetables. Each dish contains between 15g and 22g of protein per portion.
Citing recent National Eating Trends results from Circana, High Liner Foods reports that 45% of consumers seek no-prep meals made in one dish, while 75% prefer meals ready in under 15 minutes. Additionally, 41% aim to increase their protein intake. Product testing by Matrix Sciences found over 87% of participants felt the skillet meals exceeded expectations while 91% found them easy to prepare.
The company plans to make Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals available across the United States starting June 2026 with broader distribution throughout North America anticipated later. Other featured products at SENA include Sea Cuisine Guinness Battered Shrimp and Fish Strips as well as Van de Kamps Shark Bites.
