PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) is hosting the JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 chess tournament, reinforcing its commitment to the development of chess in Indonesia. The event is organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Chess Federation (PB PERCASI) and takes place from May 10 to 15, 2025, at Wisma Serbaguna Senayan in Central Jakarta. This year’s tournament features participants from six countries: Australia, India, China, Italy, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia.

“As a company committed to human capital development and sports,” said Rachmat Indrajaya, Director of Corporate Affairs at JAPFA, “we are proud to bring back JAPFA FIDE Rated this year. Beyond promoting chess in Indonesia, we aim to provide a platform where national players can showcase their talent on an international stage.”

The JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 serves as an important event for players aiming to sharpen competitive skills, improve Elo ratings, and earn international titles from the World Chess Federation (FIDE). Many Indonesian players have historically traveled abroad for title norms or rating increases. This tournament offers them a chance to achieve these goals domestically.

Utut Adianto, Chairman of PB PERCASI, remarked that “JAPFA FIDE Rated 2025 is a golden opportunity for young chess players to hone their skills, gain FIDE points, and test their mettle against top international players.”

The tournament follows a 9-round Swiss system and includes three categories.

With its consistent annual organization, JAPFA FIDE Rated continues to play an essential role in fostering national chess talent. The tournament aims not only to produce champions but also to inspire a new generation to embrace and excel in chess.
