PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) inaugurated a new poultry facility in Bintan, Riau Islands, on May 14, 2025. The facility, which spans 7.6 hectares and consists of 12 units, has the capacity to house 516,000 laying hens and produce up to 360,000 eggs daily. This initiative is part of JAPFA’s commitment to strengthening national food security by providing affordable and nutritious animal protein.

In conjunction with this development, JAPFA launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program “JAPFA for Kids” in the area. The program aims to improve the nutritional status of elementary school children through balanced nutrition education and egg distribution to students with nutritional deficiencies. Targeting several elementary schools in Bintan Regency, the program will offer three months of guidance and monitor students’ nutritional progress monthly.

“The inauguration of this layer facility is a step towards achieving our target of one million laying hens and producing 750,000 eggs per day by 2026. It reflects our commitment to strengthening food security in Bintan while contributing to the social development of the surrounding community. Through the JAPFA for Kids program, we hope to build healthier eating habits and improve children’s quality of life,” said Anwar Tandiono, Head of Feed Operations at JAPFA.

The local government welcomed JAPFA’s initiative as it contributes significantly to food security and regional economic growth. Governor Ansar Ahmad expressed appreciation for JAPFA’s plans that not only support food security but also have a direct impact on economic improvement through job creation and local community empowerment. “At the same time, the CSR program targeting children’s nutrition aligns well with our regional development priorities for creating a healthy and intelligent future generation,” he stated.

By synergizing increased food production capacity with sustainable social contributions, JAPFA hopes to actively enhance community welfare and realize a healthier and more empowered future.
