PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA) has inaugurated a new egg production facility in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. The facility, located on a 7.6-hectare site, can house up to 516,000 laying hens and is expected to produce approximately 360,000 eggs daily. This development underscores JAPFA’s commitment to enhancing national food security by providing affordable animal protein.
In addition to the facility launch, JAPFA is implementing its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, JAPFA for Kids, in the region. The program focuses on improving nutrition among elementary school children through education on balanced diets and distributing eggs to undernourished students. Several schools in Bintan Regency will benefit from this three-month assistance program, which includes monthly monitoring of nutritional progress.
Anwar Tandiono, Head of Feed Operations at JAPFA, stated during the inauguration: “The inauguration of this layer facility is the first step toward achieving our 2026 target of 1,000,000 laying hens and 750,000 eggs produced per day. This reflects our concrete commitment to enhancing food security in Bintan while also contributing to the social development of the surrounding community.”
The Governor of Riau Islands Province, H. Ansar Ahmad, SE., MM., praised JAPFA’s initiative for its contribution to food security and economic growth in the region. He remarked that “the CSR program focused on improving children’s nutrition aligns closely with our regional development priorities.”
Through increased production capacity and sustainable social initiatives like JAPFA for Kids, JAPFA aims to enhance community welfare and foster a healthier future generation.
