Thai Union Group PCL has been awarded an A- rating in CDP’s 2025 climate disclosure, moving up from a B rating last year. The new score places the company in CDP’s “Leadership” category, which highlights organizations recognized for their ambitious strategies and verified progress on environmental issues. CDP evaluates more than 22,000 companies worldwide using its climate, water, and deforestation questionnaires.

The improvement in Thai Union’s rating is attributed to ongoing efforts under its SeaChange 2030 sustainability strategy. This program focuses on decarbonizing operations, promoting responsible seafood supply chains, and protecting ocean ecosystems. Key initiatives include investments aimed at achieving net zero emissions and zero deforestation, as well as targets for eliminating water discharge, landfill waste, and food loss at major facilities.

Adam Brennan, Chief Sustainability Officer at Thai Union, commented on the significance of the recognition: “CDP is an important benchmark not only for disclosure, but for how effectively companies translate commitments into climate action. Our SeaChange 2030 strategy is delivering progress that can be traced through our operations, financing systems, and supply-chain partnerships, from lower-carbon seafood production to greater transparency in how seafood reaches consumers.”

Throughout the year, Thai Union has reported reductions in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and has continued work on Scope 3 impacts with programs such as Lower Carbon Shrimp. The company also made advances toward circularity by increasing the number of sites working toward zero waste to landfill and progressing key facilities toward goals of zero water discharge and zero food loss. Efforts to eliminate deforestation across its supply chain have also continued.

With rising concerns over climate change and biodiversity loss affecting global seafood systems, Thai Union stressed the importance of measurable action across the industry.

“This CDP score reflects the progress we are making today, and SeaChange 2030 sets the pathway for tomorrow,” Brennan said. “Our responsibility is to lead change that strengthens ocean health, drives lower-carbon seafood production, and lifts standards across the entire industry.”
