As the Lenten season begins, Joe Bundrant, CEO of Trident Seafoods, has issued a message to employees, partners, and communities involved in bringing wild Alaska seafood to global markets. Lent is traditionally a period of reflection for many and also represents one of the busiest times of year for seafood suppliers.
Bundrant addressed all members of the Trident community, stating: “To every member of the Trident family – whether you’re harvesting at sea, processing in Alaska, supporting our operations, or partnering with us as a customer – thank you.”
He highlighted the importance of teamwork across various roles within the company and among its partners. “Our work is only possible because of the dedication of our fishermen, employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and partners in Alaska, the U.S., and beyond. Your resilience and teamwork ensure that wild-caught, sustainable seafood reaches customers who depend on us throughout this important season,” Bundrant said.
Despite challenges in the industry environment this year, Bundrant expressed confidence in his team’s ability to continue delivering on Trident’s mission. “Even in a challenging industry environment, your commitment allows Trident to continue living its mission of responsibly sharing wild Alaska seafood with the world,” he noted.
Looking forward to the coming months, Bundrant emphasized collective effort and shared goals: “The months ahead will require continued focus, speed, and collaboration. We have ambitious goals this year, and achieving them will take all of us working together and prioritizing what truly drives impact. It won’t always be easy, but we have every confidence in our people and in the shared values that guide our work.”
Bundrant also recognized those currently fishing under difficult conditions: “As we enter this season, we also recognize the crews currently fishing in the icy waters of the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. Their grit and bravery fuel everything we do. We keep them, and all who work on the water, in our thoughts and prayers for a safe and successful season.”
He closed by reiterating his appreciation: “In closing, to every member of the Trident family – whether you’re harvesting at sea, processing in Alaska, supporting our operations or partnering with us as a customer – thank you. Your hard work and dedication are the heart of our company.” Bundrant wished everyone a peaceful Lenten season.
