Trident Seafoods announced on Apr. 1 that it will serve as a Platinum Sponsor for the 44th annual Alaska Governor’s Safety and Health Conference, scheduled for April 7 and April 8, 2026 at the William A. Egan Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.

The conference is an important event for civic and business leaders, workers, vendors, and partners from across Alaska’s frontline industries to discuss strategies that improve workplace safety throughout the state.

Joe Bundrant, CEO of Trident Seafoods, will lead the General Session on the second day with a presentation titled “Built for Alaska: How Trident Seafoods Embeds Safety from Vessel to Value Chain.” The session will focus on how leadership can make safety personal within organizations. Attendees are expected to leave with actionable steps toward making health and safety both measurable and sustainable in their own workplaces.

According to Trident Seafoods’ most recent sustainability report, the company achieved a 19% reduction in safety incidents companywide in 2024 compared to the previous year. Additionally, its Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART) rate was reduced by half through an enterprise-level approach that emphasizes a culture of safety starting at the top.

Bundrant has led Trident since his appointment as CEO in 2014. The company is recognized as North America’s largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing firm. Headquartered in Seattle but anchored in Alaska, Trident operates internationally across ten countries while employing about 7,700 people each year. It also partners with more than 2,700 independent fishermen and crew members across Alaska.
