At the annual Alaska Symphony of Seafood event, hosted by the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation (AFDF), Trident Seafoods received recognition for two new products. The company’s Crispy Battered Sauceable Wild Alaska Pollock Nuggets won the “People’s Choice” award, while a product from its wellFURst pet health brand was named “Most Innovative.”

Kristy Clement, CEO of AFDF, commented on the winners: “It’s inspiring to see the creativity and innovation shown by this year’s winners. Each product carries the spirit of Alaska – one built on community, pride and excellence.”

The event is an important occasion for the seafood industry, attracting nearly 300 participants in Seattle this year. It highlights products that demonstrate Alaska’s focus on quality and sustainability.

Trident Seafoods’ pollock nuggets were developed through collaboration across several company departments including research and development, sales, operations, FSQA, and marketing. The product was refined over months to ensure it could maintain its crispy texture even when sauced or held hot. The nuggets are made from wild-caught Alaska pollock and can be used in various dishes such as rice bowls or wraps.

For pet owners, Trident introduced its wellFURst line of freeze-dried supplements and fish oils for dogs. The brand’s calming supplement was recognized as “Most Innovative.” Analise Gonzales, Director of Business Development at Trident Seafoods, said: “Trident’s wellFURst brand is leading the future of pet wellness by offering a long-desired product for the right situation made the sustainable way. We believe in wellFURst’s purpose to not be just another pet brand. We’re here to be the go-to for thoughtful, ingredient-driven pet wellness.”

The wellFURst line uses wild-caught Alaska Pollock and includes options designed to help dogs manage stress as well as support seasonal allergies and promote skin, coat, and brain health.

Trident Seafoods states that these awards reflect their ongoing commitment to sharing wild Alaska seafood globally while maintaining a focus on sustainability.
